Live from Las Vegas, It’s Level 3 at NAB 2012!

For anyone who works in the world of broadcast, the annual NAB Show that kicks off today in Las Vegas is definitely something of a tradition. Ask someone who’s been a few times and you’ll get stories of stressful booth set-ups, memories of sore feet from walking the endless miles around one of the world’s largest convention centers, and often tales of a memorable party or two!

Today the NAB Show is a lot more than just a broadcast industry event in the traditional sense. The event has morphed into a content show that covers all aspects of digital media, from its creation through to its consumption.

Level 3’s content product strategy is centered around this theme of from Creation to Consumption®, with services from:

Vyvx Solutions (acquiring and transmitting live broadcast video signals across our global network)

Internet Broadcast Elements (a suite of services to encode and control live broadcast signals for Internet delivery), and

- CDN (Level 3’s global Content Delivery Network to deliver content online to any connected device)

Where Content Comes to Life

Aligned to the show’s main tag-line of ‘Where Content Comes to Life’ this year we are bringing Level 3’s services to life at our NAB booth in the South Upper Hall using direct Level 3 fiber connectivity we have into the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Via a full gigabit/second network connection, we are having some fun and demonstrating in a very real way what we do across our Vyvx, Internet Broadcast Elements and CDN product families. We have cameras set-up to broadcast live from our booth and are transmitting those camera feeds via the Vyvx network to one of Level 3’s Broadcast Encoding Centers in New York, before ingesting for on-line delivery across our global CDN.

We’ll have many interesting things running, including our award winning and patented VenueNet family of products, bringing live video feeds into our booth from across the globe via the global Vyvx network and demonstrating real-time use of the Level 3 Media Portal for booking and reporting services.

If you are at the NAB show please come and see us at our booth (SU10415), or join us virtually via our live streaming presence at http://www.level3.com/nab2012
